My mother age 8. Back when you could take a dollar into a store and walk out with a bag full of goodies. Little girls wore dresses to school. You could safely walk to and from school. If you had a TV at home, it was black and white and only got one channel.
I remember when we had one of these clocks hanging on our wall. Until my mom and step-dad got married. The maid of honor and best man came and redecorated our house; pouring 5 lbs of rice in their bed, t.p.'d the entire house, put pots n pans in the frig, and turned the clock upside down, among other things (my room was safe though..whew). The clock kept time after that, but her tail and eyes remained still :(
