RR & PC

Photobucket
Regal Masque kit by Creative Victorian Designs (with cross from BlueDream Designs "In Loving Memory)

I have to say that the ONLY person I truly miss from my hometown is my pastor. "PC" as we call her (short for Pastor Cala), is so on fire with the Holy Ghost you can't sit still while she's behind the pulpit. And a voice??? Oh my gosh...can she sing!!! I still bring out tapes of sermons just to get a dose of the fire. I can't wait til the radio station starts airing her Sunday sermons over the internet...so I can turn all my friends on to the fire ;)) and get that weekly dose myself!!!
I love this picture of PC and her hubby Rick (who runs the sound system at church). But I have to tell you that I had so much trouble finding just the right kit to use for this layout...striving for perfection because they are such special people to me. Honestly, I still wasn't happy with the final result...but I know I never would have been.

Forever Love

Photobucket
Inherit Blessings kit by Creative Victorian Designs

Here is my niece Jamie and her groom Kenneth on their wedding day. The picture was awe inspiring, so I just couldn't help myself to memorialize it. I wasn't there for the blissful day, but I can see the love they share in their eyes.

I've only met Jamie once, about 13 years or so ago. The sweet girl I met then has certainly blossomed into a beautiful woman. I'm thanking God for creating the men and women who He has blessed with the gift of technology. If it weren't for internet/myspace, we would probably remain estranged for life. But now we get to reconnect, learn more about each other, and grow as a family.

Christmas in July

Photobucket
Combination of Christmas Expuisite and Christmas Innocence by Creative Victorian Designs

OK...Here we go, "Christmas in July." Just so happens that I was surfing around and saw that my daughter had posted these beautiful pics of her and the baby. Even commented on her myspace that I was gonna use them quick.

A few minutes later was thinking that I had made a "quick page" when I first got in to digi-scrapping that I had never used. My attempt at a "quick page" with my "cheap crappy" program (which I love) was, uh, NOT useable by anyone but me. So the file has sat with no pics in it. THEN the darn program didn't want to open it. So after a minor freak out, I figured out how to get it open and figured I'd better do it while the doing was good. Went through Christmas pics, and couldn't find anything that would fit the layout. Hhhmmmm... Three spots, three pics... OH WELL "Christmas in July."

After being done with it, It's beautiful, as are the faces in it. So there!!!

3J

Combination of Summer Gardens and The Boys kits by Blue Dream Designs

Let me introduce you to 3J. My nickname for him because he is Jerry the 3rd. Jerry's and my first grandbaby. He was born April 27, 2005. I wish I could say that I get to see him all the time, but I can't. He and his family live in Oklahoma, so we have only seen pictures and talked to him on the phone. He is quite the little personality...but then he comes by it TOTALLY naturally from his grandfather and father. He has quite a name to live up to...let's just hope he's smarter than they are (LOL) ;))

I fell in love with the kits offered by this designer. And even found myself doing a little free hand cropping. WHOO HOO!!! I can't wait to get Photo Shop Elements from my sister this week. She landed an extra copy and is passing it on to me. MOSTLY because she's been trying to get me to move on from the "cheapy crap" program she bought me over a year ago. ;)) A program that I love... I'll probably get flustered trying to figure out the PSE, but I'm sure with time I'll be zooming right through it... I HOPE

My Hippie Kid

Photobucket
Intensity kit By Creative Victorian Designs

This is a "challenge" layout proposed by Creative Victorian Designs. The challenge was to make a journal page using funny photos and story to go with. Here's the challenge...I have to figure out how to post the blasted thing on the target website!!! I'm not all that knowledgeable just yet on how to do all this stuff. So I'll be calling on my little sister to guide me through it. Meanwhile, I'll post this here...and get a few laughs.

SweetPea

Photobucket
All About Men kit By Nutkin Tailz Designs

Here's my oldest son Michael. I was a young mother, 16 when I had him. I don't get to see him much, as he lives in Southern California. Mica'eel is his Muslim name. Nutkin Tailz elements were perfect for fashioning the cresent moon symbol that means so much to my son. We may be of different faiths, but our bond is one for the record books.

I love these pics of my very photogenic boy. If you look real close, you can see him in the tree on the side. And like most men, his sense of direction leaves some to be desired... Lost??? Ask a statue ;)) I named this layout "SweetPea" my special nickname for him. He loves it, even now.

Choctaw Family

Photobucket
Arizona Fantasy Kit By Creative Victorian Designs

My ex-sister-in-law Vickie (who I am just getting to know), and her family. Beings as I love Native American heritage, and she is Native American, she made the perfect model for me to use this kit. I'm excited about getting to know her.

Also pictured is her father "Chief" who had made my husband a cane and a tomahawk that hang on our Native American wall. Her brother Jimmy also made a peace pipe that hangs on our wall. So now I have to share a funny story... Hubby Jerry brings home this cool "peace pipe" before we were married OR clean and sober. Excited about smoking (uh, you know) in the pipe, I wanted to know how it would "hit?" I got the biggest mouth full, throat full, chest n lung full of saw dust... YUCK!!! Now it hangs on our wall, an unchristened virgin (and will always). God's way of saying, "I don't think so."

Prom Night 2007

Photobucket
Unicorn Purity Kit By Creative Victorian Designs

I have been dying to use this kit. It's almost like the deigner is related to me and knows how I think. Hhhmmmm...
Pictured are my daughter Heather and her prom date Matt. They are engaged to be married and the proud parents of Mary Marie born earlier this year. I pray that they stay a happy couple, and have many more memories like this one.
